The Call and Response Teach - A Storytelling Convention

This one is simple and fun!

At the beginning of the lesson, you explain that there are key words and responses to each one of these words.

For example:
Call: "Nebuchadnezzar"
Response: BOOOOOOO!

Call: "Furnace"
Response: "Oh that's HOT!"

Call: "The Three Amigos"
Response: "I got your back bro!"

Then go ahead and tell the story. You have to make sure that you keep the energy up. Do this by using props, pulling up some kids to play the characters or combining this with another storytelling convention like Art Attack.

Another fun tip to try is to have cue cards for your audience. Its good because it helps keep the kids' attention, but it also uses kids up on stage which is always a plus!

Add a challenge by adding more key words or speeding up the frequency of these words too.
